Sadleir House, 751 George Street North, Peterborough, Room 107.
The Sadleir House Alternative Resource Library is a joint effort of the Center and OPIRG. It strives to provide materials that are not available in any other library in Peterborough. The collection is made up of about 3,000 books, videos, and magazine subscriptions, as well as 'zines and a vertical file.
A short list of subjects: feminism, women's history, fiction, anti-racist organizing, labour history, pay equity, anthropology, queer theory/history, health, children and youth, Canadian history, herstory, First Nations, food and agriculture, global politics, poetry ecology, fiction and cultural studies.
Hours:
Our hours are designed to accomodate Sadleir House and OPIRG office hours and will vary depending on the schedules of these two groups. Because the library is our project over the summer months, it will be open whenever the Centre is open.
More or less, hours are expected to be: Tuesday to Friday 11.00 am to 5.00 pm, but if at any time you drop by and the door is locked, check with us at the Sadleir House office or at OPIRG to have it unlocked.
